Heat Breaks
In collaboration with the Office of Sustainability, we host “Community Heat Break” neighborhood pop-up events. Extreme heat can worsen health, especially in areas with little shade and high heat from buildings and streets. With more frequent heat waves, it is important to be prepared. This is why our office is teaming up with the City of Boston, Boston Public Health Commision, and neighborhood partners to bring cold treats, education, and fun activities to parks in Fenway, Mission Hill, Roxbury, and South End.
Join us for this year’s Heat Breaks! No registration required.
Roxbury: Wed 7/16, 2-4pm, Madison Park Playground
South End/Back Bay: Thu 7/17, 2-4pm, Titus Sparrow Park
Mission Hill: Tue 7/22, 2-4pm, Mission Hill Playground
Fenway: Wed 7/23, 2-4pm, Edgerly Plaza

Nonprofit and Small Business Capacity Building
The Non-Profit and Small Business Development Series features a mixture of online and in-person trainings around key topics for nonprofits and small businesses. These workshops are great for anyone interested in furthering their own knowledge and skills in topics such as branding, grant writing, legal consideration, and partnership building.
Previous sessions have included a free law clinic to help community members file for non-profit status, and various classes focused on branding and capacity building from community organizations such as the YMCA and Beat the Odds.
A.R.T.S Series: A Road to Strengthening Community
This collection of events gathers community members, campus partners, and arts professionals for a variety of learning events targeted around the arts. Curated from partnerships with local film makers, artists, educators, and campus partners, these events are open to the public and create space for community building.
